Istituto Æquilibrium — School of Initiatic and Hermetic Tradition

Istituto Æquilibrium is more than a place: it is a scattered institute, with its base on Lake Garda, in northern Italy. It was founded to reunite what is dispersed — to point once more to the Eternal Way, and to restore Tradition and Initiation in an age of spiritual confusion. It gathers and selects teachers of the traditional Ways of West and East.

The Institute runs initiatic courses, individual pathways, a professional training programme, and publishes the works of its founders. This page presents the Institute's work to English-speaking readers, practitioners and publishers.

Hermetic Deliverance

Hermetic Deliverance — the Stifini Method — frees the person from spiritual oppression and parasitism. Developed over thirteen years of documented casework, it is a secular, strictly consent-based practice: the person is guided, fully lucid, into a light relaxation — the Hermetic State — where what oppresses them can be brought into the open, understood, and released.

Nothing is fought and nobody is cast out. The session finds the precise event through which the parasitism began, and dissolves the bond there. The person — not the practitioner — remains the agent of their own deliverance throughout. The process is entirely verbal, and one of the method's revolutions is its non-locality: sessions are conducted at a distance, by telephone, with the same efficacy as in person.

Tested through fourteen years of continuous use, across many hundreds of documented sessions, the method is today also employed alongside clinical care in certain psychiatric contexts, where the authors collaborate with practising psychiatrists.

The method has been welcomed in worlds that rarely meet. In Italy the book stands, depending on the bookshop, under Western esotericism, anthropology, holistic trauma work — in many shops, even Freudian psychology; the Rudolf Steiner circuit, normally closed around its own authors, carries it in its self-education series, and teachers of the Tibetan Vajrayāna have received it as a possible complement to their own tradition's compassionate practice of liberation, alongside psychologists, psychotherapists and hypnotherapists who work with it.

Beyond its therapeutic use, it has proved a formative discipline for any student of the esoteric path: it brings down to earth, into operative practice, what too often remains merely mental — a practical, compassionate, alchemical way of working, consonant with the spirit of the time.
